Removal planned in three dimensions

    Wisdom teeth in Herne

Wisdom teeth often have too little space or lie close to a nerve. A 3D image shows the exact position before we decide how to remove them.

    Nerve position visible

The cone beam CT shows the relation between the root and the nerve canal.

    All four in one session

On request all wisdom teeth can be removed in a single appointment under sedation.

    How the treatment works

    1. 1

      Assessment

X-ray or 3D scan and a discussion of whether removal is necessary.

    2. 2

      Anaesthetic

Local anaesthetic, sedation or general anaesthesia.

    3. 3

      Removal

The tooth is removed as gently as the position allows.

    4. 4

      Healing

Cooling, rest and a check-up after a few days.

Do wisdom teeth always have to go?

No. A wisdom tooth that has fully erupted, can be cleaned and causes no problems can stay. Removal is advised when there is repeated inflammation, decay, pressure on the neighbouring tooth or a cyst.

We give you an honest recommendation based on the images and your symptoms, not a blanket rule.
