New in Germany or just visiting

    Dental care for international patients

The German dental system takes some getting used to: insurance categories, treatment plans, subsidies and private contributions. We explain all of it in English before any treatment begins.

Your first visit, step by step

    1. 1Book online or call 02325 70232 and mention that you would prefer English.
    2. 2Arrive about ten minutes early to register at reception with your insurance details.
    3. 3We examine your teeth and gums and take X-rays or a 3D scan only where it is needed.
    4. 4You receive the findings and a written treatment and cost plan, explained in English.
    5. 5You decide in your own time; nothing is treated before you have agreed to the plan.

    Costs and insurance

In Germany, dental fees follow official fee schedules. For anything beyond a routine examination you receive a written plan that lists each item and your personal share, so you always know what to expect before treatment starts.

If you have supplementary dental insurance, you can submit the plan to your insurer before treatment. We are happy to wait for their answer.

    Travelling to Herne for treatment

Patients who live further away often combine appointments so that fewer trips are needed. Because surgery, prosthetics and the dental laboratory are in the same building, several steps can frequently be scheduled into one stay. Tell us your travel dates and we will plan around them.
